My pregnancy to begin with was normal. I had morning sickness and was tired all the time, the 12 weeks flew by though.
In the second trimester things got better, no more morning sickness. I found out in January that I was having a baby boy. My husband and best friend were there.
The third trimester is when things got bad. At 29 weeks I went in to preterm labor. I was at a friend's house when I had these weird pains. I went to the hospital that night and was dilated to three having contractions.
They kept me in there for four days. I was put on magnesium and got steroids to help the baby's lungs develop. I was put on bedrest then.At 31 and a half weeks me and my husband were laying in bed watching the Simpsons. He had his hand resting on my belly. He noticed that my stomach kept hardening and asked me if I had noticed. Of course I had but thought it was just braxton hicks. The pain got worse and the contractions were coming more close. I called my cousin and asked her if she could take me to the hospital since dh had to work in the morning.
We arrived at the hospital around midnight to find out that I was dilated to a 5 and 80% effaced. The doctors could not do anything to stop the labor since I had already had the treatment, so we knew that the baby was coming.Things went fast from there. Dh showed up and we got some rest. I got my epidural at 7:00 that morning. The doctor came in and broke my water at 9:20, I was 6 centimeters, and told me he was going to do a tubal ligation and by the time he got back I should be about ready. Well needless to say 5 minutes later I was at a ten and ready to push.
They wheeled me into the operating room. By then my doctor was back and telling me to push. After the first push dh told me he needed a drink or he was going to pass out so he left. It seemed like he was gone forever and they would not let me push until he got back. I thought he had passed out in the hall. Finally he returned and I started on push number 2. Then the nurse said "Baby's heart beat is dropping". That is all it took I pushed him out on the third push. He was put through the NICU window as fast as he came out. I didn't get to see him.
