Well, I'm sure you all read the story of how I found out I was pregnant. My fiance and I were so excited and yet nervous all at the same time.
I was 10 weeks and 2 days. My sister and her boy friend were over visiting and playing poker. I went up to the washroom, not feeling any different and I noticed a bit of blood. Right away I went to the ER and they did blood tests to confirm the pregnancy and a vaginal exam. The doctor said everything looked just like it should but he wanted me back in 2 days for another HCG count.
I did the blood test and they asked me to stay and wait for the results. The doctor finally called me in and said that my HCG count had gone down. He said he didn't know why I wasn't bleeding more but that it indicated I had miscarried. My worst fear had just hit me smack in the forehead. All I remember from that day was the doctor saying he was trying to get a hold of a gynecologist and my reply was "I don't want a gynecologist, I want my baby."
Three days later I went back for an ultrasound so they could confirm the miscarriage and sure enough I had. During the 3 days of waiting to go back I cried, got mad, and then accepted that I had miscarried. The day after the ultrasound they had me in to have a D&C. I was so scared but someone from the board helped me a lot. (you know who you are) I don't think I would have been able to calm down unless I talked to her. It is now 2 days past my D&C and I'm feeling good. I'm still a little sad but we are excited to start trying again.
